"Our deck was unusable for much of the year as it is exposed to the full strength of the predominant cold, southwest wind and on sunny days it became too hot to be outside. We were concerned that a wide roof over the deck would shade the living room too much. Our new Louvretec roof resolved that issue, providing the shade in the summer and opening to let the sun into the living room in the winter. And it looks great too. The standard solution for the wind problem, café blinds, would have distorted the magnificent view, so not ideal. Louvretec’s frameless glass sliders make the deck enjoyable, even on breezy winter days. The glass is not noticeable, and the view of the bush and the sheep on the hills is undistorted. "Outdoor living in New Zealand is a way of life, however where ever you live in our great country the weather can be unpredictable at the best of times. Louvretec allows you to plan and enjoy the outdoors when it suits you. A Louvretec system means you can have solid cover or open it up to allow the sun in. Should the rain come close it up. You can also get roll down sides for wind and rain protection. I love the ability to have it in the colours I choose and the quality of the product itself. We set up a paddling pool for the kids this summer under the Opening Roof so they could be outside yet still protected from the sun and then set this area up for dinner as the weather turned a bit. It is a versatile and useful outdoor room that we all enjoy in different ways.
